CCSCLA's 2023 Book Scholarship Award Winner Is Vivian Nguyen From University of California Berkeley

Concerned Citizens of South Central Los Angeles is a Los Angeles-based non profit organization dedicated to making a meaningful impact in our local community. Founded in 1985, our nonprofit has grown from humble beginnings to become a driving force in addressing critical social issues in the area of education reform and support higher learning initiatives throughout Los Angeles, California and the United States.


At the heart of our mission is a commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families in the Los Angeles area. We work tirelessly to address some of the most pressing challenges our community faces, including homelessness, education disparities, and access to healthcare. Our efforts are underpinned by a deep-rooted belief in social justice, equity, and the power of collective action.


Under the leadership of Executive Director Noreen McClendon, CCSCLA is pleased to announce the name of our latest 2023 book scholarship award winner as Vivian Nguyen, a student from the University of California Berkeley. Over the years, Concerned Citizens of South Central Los Angeles has initiated numerous initiatives and partnerships aimed at creating positive change.
